Is Eden Botanicals Amber Essence Oil pure?

Does an Amber Essential Oil or an organic amber oil exist?

Eden Botanicals' Amber Essence Oil, Amber Royale and Amber Rose are true amber oils, made from traditional, fragrant amber resins.  There are many types of amber oils on the market, many of which contain synthetic fragrance oils or synthetic extraction and carrier oils. A true essence oil of amber should contain high quality amber resins made in the traditional way. Amber resins are semisolid essences composed of various resins, essential oils, botanical extracts and wax.

There are two other ways to make a true amber oil. The first is to have access to the resins and oils that are used to make amber resin. These then can be made directly into the amber oil. The other way to make a real amber oil is to use ambergris as the starting base for the oil. Both methods, with skilled hands, should produce an exceptional amber oil. Ambergris however, is very rare and expensive and comes from the sperm whale, which make its legal status questionable.

For the record, there is no such thing as amber essential oil. Essential oils are pure plant oils which are distilled or otherwise extracted from a single plant species. Fragrant amber itself is a combination of several different botanical sources (or animal sources in the case of ambergris). There is no one plant from which amber comes from (although you will hear it said that amber comes from a tree growing in the Himalayas), therefore there is no amber essential oil anywhere.

Amber Essence Oil made by Eden Botanicals is a true amber oil in that it is made from two types of fragrant amber resins - Amber Essence and Premium Dark Amber, extracted in certified organic, high oleic acid sunflower oil. To this amber oil base we add certified organic patchouli and certified organic vetiver essential oils mixed with organic jojoba oil and natural vitamin E (mixed tocopherols). Sandalwood CO2 extract is also added. This produces our Amber Essence Oil which has no equal. There are no synthetic ingredients added to the oils that we make. There is no alcohol, propylene glycol, ethylene glycol, preservatives, colorings, ambergris, etc. added. The essential oils that we add to the extracted amber oil are found in the original amber resin formula. They are there so as to help create a deep, full-bodied and harmonious oil, not to add anything new and different to the original amber aroma.

Amber Royale is a new amber oil we created in early 2003, after spending a year in development. It is similar to our original Amber Essence Oil except that it adds some additional precious oils not found in the original formula. Amber Royale is deeper and more mysterious with a hint of resin and spice. In addition to the oils used in our Amber Essence Oil, we include the resin from the rock rose, which adds a deep sensuous and slightly fruity note. The rare and seldom available agarwood is also added for its extraordinary and legendary fragrance. The essential oils of Himalayan cedarwood and Frankincense are also added to bring in their sacred wood/earth qualities.

Amber Rose is another new amber oil, which incorporates the lovely Bulgarian Rose into Amber Royale making a completely new and captivating Amber Rose combination.
